After trial and error, I concluded my nostrils are different sizes. I tried filters that are inserted into the nose, but first I couldn't find the correct size. All of them were at least as unsightly as the surgical masks (one was worse). Another one worked temporarily, but didn't last long at all and had to be frequently replaced in order to continue working. One, which worked temporarily, was heavy and uncomfortable, and caused me to have an upper respiratory allergy when I left it on a long time. I tried several different kinds of carbon filter masks. Masks do next to nothing to reduce smoke for me. Surgical masks can be hot and uncomfortable, and are definitely unsightly. I have tried all kinds of things to filter my breathing and lessen my exposure to allergens. I suspect that there was some other reason this person couldn't use them. Well, according to the government, I'm a senior citizen-that is if the receipt of Medicare counts. I read the reviews, and one person who is a senior citizen said they didn't work for her. ![]() I really haven't used these for a rapid walk yet, so I don't know if I'll still be able to get my breath then. In this kind of situation, I don't even smell the smoke when I have these on! And now I have them in a smaller size which fits me better. In the past that has been an immediate headache, or worse, for me. I needed something that would help if I was suddenly was exposed to unexpected cigarette smoke-for example, in a drive thru and someone lights up in the car ahead off me while I have my window down. All kinds of smoke, particularly cigarette smoke causes me problems. But they work better than anything I've ever tried for what I want then for. For my situation I could care less it's better than the alternative.Well, they work within limitations. You look weird with the filters on your nose you look like you don't nostrils. Second users may/will be self conscious on how they look. I couldn't imagine wearing these all day unless I was doing yard work.īe sure too take your time putting them on make sure you have a good seal - I was paranoid and checked every 10-15 minutes to be on the safe side but they were fine- no problems with the seal.įirst you'll know they are there and if you're using them like me you need to be mindful and force yourself to breathe through your nose. Be mindful of your use and your expectation. Do your research don't let the other reviews impact your decision. The next morning I felt great - I couldn't believe it. ![]() Surprisingly that night I was able to do something's around the house(that's a first) that night I slept very good no major allergy issues. After my shower couple of sneezes and a little runny nose - nothing to warrant allergy medicine. BUT no medicine (I was anxious but did it anyways - planned 2 days off just in case of an attack) that night I f elt pretty good some allergy symptoms runny nose for an hour and 2 sneezes in the shower. To my surprise once I finished had 5 sneezes and a little pressure on my eyes. (despite a shower, extra allergy medicine, and nasal flush) I will be out of commission for the night and part of the next day.ģ days ago I put these in and mowed the lawn. Once I finish it's Like clock work I have an allergy attack eyes, nose, sneezing, coughing etc. Since we cannot afford a lawn service, I do the yard work myself - mow our lawn. I wasn't sure about these because a couple of people left negative reviews- but decided to go for it because I wasn't going to use them like the other people.
